Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Syncally collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the Syncally application.
1. Who we are
Syncally (“Syncally”, “we”, “us”) provides software that lets independent businesses publish a website and manage bookings, payments, quotes, messages and marketing. When you use Syncally as a business owner, we are the controller of your account data. When your customers book or message you through your Syncally site, you are the controller of that customer data and we process it on your behalf.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, password (stored as a cryptographic hash), and business details you enter such as business name, category, service areas, phone number and hours.
- Content you create — website copy, images, logos, services, prices, discount codes, quotes and marketing emails.
- Customer data you receive — booking details submitted by your customers, including name, email, phone, service address, notes, uploaded photos and signatures where you enable those fields.
- Payment information — subscription billing is processed by Stripe. Customer payments to you are processed through your own connected Stripe account. We store identifiers and status (such as subscription state and amounts), never full card numbers.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, app version, pages viewed and actions taken, collected to keep the service secure and working.
3. How we use information
- To provide, host and secure the service and your published website.
- To process bookings, quotes, messages and payments.
- To send transactional email such as booking confirmations and receipts.
- To generate content and recommendations with AI features you invoke.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- To send product updates and offers where you have not opted out. Marketing email always includes an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the service: cloud hosting and database infrastructure, Stripe for payments, an email delivery provider for transactional and marketing email, an AI provider for generation features, and stock image providers for photo search. Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide services to us.
5. Storage, retention and security
Data is stored on servers in North America. Each business's records are isolated at the database level with row-level access rules, uploads are held in private storage with expiring signed links, and traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.
We keep account data while your account is open. If you close your account we delete your data, subject to short technical backup windows and any records we must retain for tax, accounting or legal reasons.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act, Canada's PIPEDA and Québec Law 25, and the UK GDPR — you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, or a portable copy, and you may withdraw consent to non-essential processing. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
You can export a complete copy of your data at any time from Settings → Your data, and delete your account from Settings → Close account. For anything else, email us and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure basic usage of our own site. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
8. Children
Syncally is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes and contact
If we make a material change to this policy we will notify account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect. Questions or privacy requests: use the contact form on our website and mark your message “Privacy”.
